with the homeless of Athens
In the framework of its Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives, HERON and its employees were invited for a second time to assist the “Dinner of Love” NGO in catering for our fellow homeless citizens in Monastiraki and Thiseio.
The “Dinner of Love” NGO carries out a difficult humanitarian work quietly and without fanfare, in order to support the members of this particularly vulnerable population group, by ensuring that their subsistence needs are met. Every Thursday, the “Dinner of Love” invites businesses to join this effort by offering a dinner full of love.
Thus, on Thursday, June 25th, HERON’s employees, joined by the famous Executive Chef Dimitris Skarmoutsos, who volunteered to assist and give them his guidance, cooked and prepared 300 food servings according to two of this chef’s recipes. The food was cooked and prepared in the facilities of Gruppo Cucine, who also offered the use of its facilities for free.
On the same evening, the volunteers of the “Dinner of Love” distributed the food servings to the homeless in downtown Athens.
Last April, HERON had responded to the same call by the “Dinner of Love”, in the midst of the difficult lockdown period due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The first and foremost priority of all SCR actions by HERON is to demonstrate solidarity and support to vulnerable social groups, and the company is committed to continue its efforts with the same passion.
